For the past two days or so I have been happily immersed in sewing project #2, I know not an impressive number for those of you who have an active relationship with your sewing machine, but for me, lately, not too bad.
When I gave my friends the corduroy jumper, Nanci said Oh, You have to see this skirt, I think it has great possibility. So she showed me this really cute drawstring skirt, the material was to die for, but the design was also great. She said she loves it because of the drawstring. It was a 2T and right now Hannah wears it long but the drawstring will allow her to wear it for several seasons as her little legs grow.
So I had no pattern, just the original and a tape measure and this lovely fabric in my stash. I've never attempted to sew anything without a pattern before, I'm really not very skilled, but it seemed rather straight forward so I dove right in.
This is a shot of the back side. I'm really pleased with the end result. The craziest thing is that it didn't take longer than two hours from start to finish, almost instant gratification. Best of all, it has given me more fuel for the fire because I have in mind a variation that should be adorable. Yea....more projects!!
