The boys and I took a nature walk yesterday searching for things that "meant" fall. We found a whole lot of leaves, in an amazing array of colors. We also just had a wonderful time trudging around searching for found objects and enjoying our togetherness.
Earlier in the day we had stopped by our new favorite grocery spot, The Bradford Store. It is a tiny old fashioned general store that grows it's own produce and is committed to providing fresh local goods. We actually just joined the food co-op there, which I am soooo excited about, but more about that in a future post! Anyway, while at the store, on the porch there was a basket full of cotton pods in various states of bursting open and they were free so we helped ourselves to several. I thought they might be interesting for our afternoon project.
So with sticks, yarn, a small bit of picture wire, and a large amount of laughing and funny conversation we crafted this fall mobile. As you can see, it is hanging in the kitchen where we will be able to enjoy it's beauty on a constant basis. It turned out to be the greatest kind of project, lots of fun, easy to do, but most importantly, the process was even better than the product.
